DURA-Drive

The DURA-Drive is a pre-engineered, UL-listed VFD control panel. The panel is available from 1 HP to 200 HP. The panel includes an industrial VFD, input circuit breaker, local operators, status indicators, VFD HMI w/ keypad & wiring terminal blocks. The enclosure is available in either NEMA Type 1 or NEMA Type 3R protection ratings.

The DURA-Drive has been designed to deliver high performance power, all the time, be simple to install and easy to operate.

Design

The DURA-Drive has been engineered to delivery reliable power in the toughest of conditions. With consideration of thermal management, vibrations, electrical protection and operator interaction - the Dura-Drive will deliver year-on-year.

Revolutionary Cooling Design

Heat is one of the primary causes of VFD failure. If a drive is running under full load in 40C without sufficient cooling the drive will fail prematurely.

The DURA-Drive features an integrated-plenum which channels filtered air up through the VFD and out the top-left of the enclosure. This custom design separates the cooling air from the internal cabinet reducing the build up of dust on components which overtime could impair functionality.

Operator Safety

The DURA-Drive has multiple safety features to keep the operator safe. The enclosure includes a mains breaker disconnect handle to cut power supply before the enclosure can be opened.

In compliance with UL 508A Ref #21.2.2, the DURA-Drive exhaust vents are directed away from operator area. Other VFD panels on the market do not follow this guideline and have vents directly over the operator area. This is presents a danger to the operator should a component fail and super-heated gases are released.

The cooling design is so efficient the VFD can operate at maximum power in 40C ambient temperatures without supplemental enclosure cooling fans. By eliminating the need for enclosure fans, the drive will not require fan maintenance or operational failures caused by over-heated drives due to clogged fan filters.

Revolutionary Cooling Design

Custom enclosure includes unique patent-pending cooling design to optimize air flow through the VFD keeping it within specification even under full load at 40C.

UL Listed per UL 508A

The DURA-Drive is listed by SAI to meet or exceed the UL 508A standard.

1 HP to 200 HP Industrial VFD

The DURA-Drive includes a Vacon NXP VFD which delivers high-performance power. The drives offer comprehensive and flexible feature set.  The VFD provides simple programming with PLC-like step-sequence processing. The VFD includes parameter copy and save functions. The heavy-duty drive enables the VFD to operate at 150% overload for one minute with a 3000 second (max) accel / decel time. The VFD can be secured by the HMI with operator passcode.

Operating Temperature

The DURA-Drive is rated to operate at full load up to 40C (50C if using de-rated heavy-duty / constant torque drive)

Door mounted VFD HMI w/ Keypad

The Vacon HMI which includes a two line, backlit display and keypad provide direct access and control over VFD operation and progamming parameters.

Input Circuit Breaker Protection

3% AC Input Reactor

The 3% AC input reactor reduces reflective harmonics which can assist maintain compliance with IEEE 519.

24 Vdc Control Voltage

For operator safety the drive uses 24 Vdc for control components

Easy Installation & Remote Wiring

Wiring terminal blocks for easy installation and connections for remote analog speed control.

Lockable, Flange Mount Circuit Breaker

To prevent unauthorized access the MCB can be locked using a pad-lock through the eyelets.

1 Year Warranty

The DURA-Drive is sold with one year product warranty from date of shipment. Warranty covers labor and part repair.

Type 3 Enclosure For Outdoor Use

The NEMA Type 3R enclosure includes a lockable door panel covering the VFD HMI and operators. The door provides physical security control and offers weather protection.

The enclosure is painted with solar reflective paint to help reduce internal panel temperatures.

To operate in cold conditions (-10C) the panel includes a thermostat which enables heating pads to keep the drive within operating temperature range.
