Overview

SAI Drives introduced itself to the market with the first UL Class I Div 2 VFD the 'HazLo Drive' up to 100 HP. Today we are proud to launch the first ETL Class I & II Div 1 passively cooled VFD, the 'XP Drive' up to 10 HP.

Design

The XP Drive has been engineered to work within the most dangerous environments - Class I Division 1 - where flammable gases and explosive compounds are present. Other standalone drives would have to be installed far from the application process within a climate controlled room or inside costly purged enclosure. The XP Drive however can be installed next to the application which reduces the costs associated with running expensive motor control lines back to the control room.

Passive cooling: The XP Drive is the only listed passively cooled class 1 drive on the market. By removing the active enclosure fans the XP Drive does not suffer from fan fatigue which is known to cause premature drive failure. In addition to extending the life of the drive, it negates the need to perform routine fan or filter maintenance resulting in lower total cost of ownership.
